Although, im not quite sure if you can place a bet on someone doing something within 5-10 years?

You can go into any bookie and get a price on anything you want in this day and age!

You could get a bet on your ten year-old son/daughter representing a national team/winning Wimbledon for example.

You just gotta ask :p

I bet Mr. Bloom's bet on the Albion is for a few quid, mind you.

Maybe thats how he's getting his money back. Put a bet on before all this started, then become chairman. Wam bam 90 millian back in your bank with a big enough bet!

Brighton in Bloom | The Jewish Chronicle

Nothing really new. Apart from this:

not causing touble. Just searching the web and seeing what i come up with.

I think they've misquoted a newspaper article there. I seem to remember reading an article that said something along the lines of:

'Bloom has effectively taken a bet that Brighton will make the premier league in the next 5-10 years, as that is the only way he will see a return on his investment.'

'Bloom, 39, made his fortune selling online gambling firm Premierbet in 2002, property and finance. He has reportedly placed a bet on Brighton becoming a Premier League club in the next five to 10 years.'

Wonder what kind of odds he got? Wouldn't mind a piece of that bet meself

A lot better odds than you will get! Inside knowledge in the extreme.

He probably lumped on as well.

Does that mean that if we're set to become a Premier League club in the next 4 years, he'll hold us back to protect his winnings?

For sure.

Would be bit of a coup if The Lizard King could arrange a way for ordinary fans to lump on. As we currently aren't able to buy shares in the club, it would be the next best thing as a way of having a financial stake in the Albion's future. IMHO, like.
