50m, yet managed to give us 80m. Good 1.

Perhaps he had 130 million untill he bailed the project out? If this is the case he's even more of a hero (if a little crazy)

My Dad who knows nothing about his involvement in Brighton reckoned he had a personal wealth of around 500 million but if he has made his fortune through hedge funds then his wealth will never be truly known as he will proberly have it hidden in some offshore account.

Rich List 2009/10: The full 100 | Lists - FourFourTwo

55. Tony Bloom £50m

Brighton Age 39, new entry

Converting £18m of club loans into shares has made Bloom Brighton's majority shareholder with a 75.61% stake, and he is said to be injecting £80m to fund the new Falmer stadium.

One of Britain's top poker players, Bloom started gambling at age seven, losing his pocket money on fruit machines. He later made it back in spades by launching the online gaming firm, Premierbet, in 2002. Selling it in 2005, Bloom moved into property development in Brighton.

His main company, Blue Lizard Consulting made a £1.7m profit on £7.4m sales in 2007-08. In all four of his companies have £14.5m net assets. We value Bloom cautiously as any return from the Seagulls depends on the club making it to the Premier League.

There's still no answer to the question:- where does his money come from?

2 Jewish guys walking down the street. One sees an unopened wage packet on the ground and picks it up.

Levi: "You lucky fucker, Solly!"
Solly: " Lucky? Luckyyy? Look at de tax I'm paying!"

I'd think that he got a lot more than £50m for Premierbet, he sold at a very good time.

On an ongoing basis, he's still a massive football punter - there would be few, if any, bigger players anywhere, even in the far east markets. And so long as his methods keep him 1 or 2pc on the right side, as they have for the last 10 or 15 years, he'll be fine.
