If you're talking about PMQs I'd say it's very easy for an outgoing PM, who resigned on the back of losing a referendum he thought he couldn't lose that would possibly shut half of his party up for a bit, to take swipes at the opposition leader knowing that none of what he says or does will affect anyting anymore.

It certainly did appear to be very easy.

Some money come in on Ed Balls this morning, gone from 250/1 to 20/1 fourth favourite.

really? the same Ed Balls that lost his seat so presumably wouldnt be eligable. proof if we needed that bookings odds are meaningless as predictions.

was wondering how long that would take. its Thick Of It grade farce. though not completely unexpected. i recall in early days of Corbyn leadership there was stories that one of the Eagles couldnt get hold of Corbyn to discuss policy. this came up this week again, and i gather is a recurring issue. looks like Corbyn isnt equiped for the management aspect of leadership.

Jack Straw was on the box last night and he was saying that Corbyn's position is so untenable that as it stands if there was a general election tomorrow and Labour won, Corbyn himself could not count on enough MP's "on his own side" to vote through any policies at all in the house....he would in effect be a PM that could not govern.

I'm sure the irony will not be lost on the European leaders with Cameron telling Corbyn "For God's sake man, go!"

The situation could not have got any worse, even if Corbyn had responded "No, you go first!" and Cameron had replied "No, you go, beardie!"

The action by Labour MPs is only about 6 months too late as it should have been done when he was elected as it was obvious that he was not electable and never going to win a general election.

It wouldn't have worked then because he had a massive mandate from party members. His inept performance during the referendum may well have convinced many that voted for him that whilst a man of principles, he is no leader and that is what the party will need in the coming months if they are to fight an election to oust the Tories.

If Corbyn had campaigned as hard as he's now clinging desperately onto his job Remain might well have won. But in anycase, the point is Labour should be a pro-European party and millions of us were furious with his utterly lack lustre role.

If you man hangs on it will lead to electoral disaster at the next election. It'll be interesting to see how his totally out of touch views on immigration chime with working class communities who have made it clear that immigration is their number one issue. Is he listening " to what the people want"? in this respect? Of course not.

Corbyn stands no chance at a general election and if you can't see that, then it's you who are deluded. He needs to go.

I hope the unions will tell him that today.

Excellent response. I suspect the unions are weighing up what to do. Back Corbyn and kiss goodbye to any chance or a Labour government or back someone not so far to the left and have a chance of victory which then allows you to have left leaning policies!!!

So what does that make James Schneider, Seumas Milne et al (apart from being slightly to the left of Trotsky)?

Apparently, the unions will not call for Corbyn to resign and with the legal advice being that Corbyn gets an automatic slot on the nominations list this is all-out civil war. Bad news for the UK.

Ed Miliband now trying to stick the knife in, he has a short memory, led the Labour Party to defeat last year and then ran away from the job. Total and utter ****, can't even eat a bacon sandwich and the same with his clueless brother

You must also have a short memory. Need reminding of your extremely pro-Ed posts from the lead up to the General Election? No? Thought not.

And now the Labour MEPs have en masse and officially called for him to resign.

We could be looking at dozens of UKIP MPs being returned up north at this rate.
