was that the one at the brighton centre? i'm too young for that but think my dad was there... i went to see from the jam last christmas, was pretty ruddy good, they played about 22 songs, all the classics.

How soon is now?
Album wise it has to be The Gift for me, followed closely by Dig The New Breed(the first album I ever bought). Song wise, Little Boy Soldiers but then it could be Boy About Town - far too many belters to choose from.
My band supported Russell Hastings on Friday night, he's the from From The Jam - he was doing a solo set of Jam songs. It was a bit odd to be honest, he's very good at what he does, but it felt a bit odd watching a guy who's made a career out of "being" somebody else, who's still around occasionally playing the songs he wrote 25 + years ago

A friend of mine queued for some time in Brighton many years ago to purchase tickets for Jams last concert, only to find as he got close to the ticket office he was queing for a James Last concert.

I like them. Then again I like anyone in a Harrington...
Seriously, I think they are decent, especially considering they are quite young.
We'll Live and Die in these Towns was a cracking debut - slightly ruined perhaps by subsequent appearances on Radio One roadshows etc but I guess that is more down the lable pressures than a desire to throw away their credibility among music snobs.
The Jam they are not. But I would rather kids listen to The Enemy than X-Factor...

They are a top bunch of lads. They work very hard at what they do. I think they play the Dome in April. I can't wait to see them blow Oasis of stage up here.

I thought the title of their album alone showed a degree of insight not often seen in young bands.
Aggro, the album's title track, and numerous others by The Enemy show real promise.
The second album will be a clincher.

An immense band, of their age, I played their music to death and saw them loads of times, highlights being the marquee club wardour street, the rainbow, and of course the last concert in 82

The Rifles are ace - and a nice bunch of lads as well.
Seen them a few times. Their new album promises to be MINT from what I have heard of it.
I believe they are at the Concorde 2 in the coming weeks.

Lots of good choices there. Like PeteinBlack I saw the Jam at the Top Rank Suite which must have been 1977. I'd previously been to see the Rolling Stones at Earls Court and remember thinking the Jam had been the better live group. Whats seems quite amusing is that when Weller broke the band up 26 years ago he said then that he didn't want the band to go on and on and get boring like the Stones! I wonder if he thinks they really have gone on too long now!!
