Forget all this election stuff - we either get a Tory-led government that widens the existing divisions in society and drives the country further into the ground, or a Labour-led one that ends up disappointing everyone who voted for them.

The really big question is: why the white socks at Middlesbrough? Is that going to continue next season?

It's all part of a plan to replace the nickname "seagulls" with the more marketable "whitesox". Journalists will love it, because it enables the Club to be abbreviated to "the Sox".

It worked for the Chicago White Stockings a century ago and we know that all the best things in sport are derived from good practice in North America.
