Me and a mate were planning on driving it but I'm not wasting money on petrol if the game is going to be called off.

Is it though?

They have to try and play the game if it can be played.

All those who made a prior commitment to this game will have bought train tickets in advance and already be en route. If the game was called off at 9am it wouldn't make much difference to them - they're en route and their money was spent and non-refundable.

For those guys I hope the game is able to be played to make their efforts and expense worthwhile.

Cant blame the ref. First pitch inspection was to be sure there were no frozen spots and that snow was cleared. Now we seem to have heavy rain so that is a different threat.

Disagree entirely!

The forecast made it clear the pitch would not be frozen, there was never any doubt in that I don't think. The pitch will not be much different in just over an hours time, and except those who have bought advance tickets, you'd be stupid to risk the £60 odd return.

If the 1st inspection was to look at frost, you are saying they PLANNED a second one at the same time they planned the first. They didn't notify anyone of this, so it wouldn't have happened.

current risk is waterlogging as the ground is still frozen underneath and not draining properly - it's all down to how much rain there is between now and the end of the match - it could kick off and still be abandoned :)

seriously - the rain is not as heavy as was forecast so still some hope

Yeah, but the rain was forecast over night and they knew it was coming - hence the inspection. They certainly weren't worried about it being frozen, of course, as a poster as suggested.

Surely you'd have to be mad to pay £60 with a 50-50 chance!?

Been raining all night in walsall according to weather.co.uk, still raining now, surface water visible now, and rain forecast 70% probability for each hour betwen now and 6pm tonight.

I think we might have a very low turnout in our end if it does go ahead. Not a good hunting ground for us, big spend weekend coming up next week in the midlands.

I'll be going if its called ON, as I live just about close enough to get there in 2 hours.

But right now I would guess 30% chance of being on, 68% chance of being of, and a 2% chance of the w4nky ref calling another inspection at 2.55pm.

last year I flew back from Amsterdam on the day of the match - flight was delayed so had to run to the long stay car park, hammer it up the M6, park (illegally) and run to the ground...................only to find we were already sunk without trace!

Only good thing to come out of it was that I didn't get a parking ticket :lolol:

This year has got to be better :clap2:

Not yet. I hope the match goes ahead for those who had tickets, I just cannot afford to risk it at the moment!

Well i hope its on for guys who made the effort, but i aslo hope for you it is not a shocking performance as last season at Wallsall.

Maybe my memory is playing tricks, but wasn't the match called off late last season because of a frozen pitch?

I remember turning round near Heathrow en-route when the news came through. :(

Really, really poor from the ref here.

The pitch will NOT have changed too much, he should have made the decision there and then. The wanker has denied me of going to Walsall today, because i couldn't afford the chance.

Think about the fans? Did he f***.
