If you were behind the camera there uncle it seems your not that popular with your own dogs by the looks of that

Golden Retrievers have a lovely docile manner. But if you REALLY pissed them off they would rip your head off. I mean look at those teeth.

When I was a kid in Leeds, we had Mischievous Night. It involved the same banging on doors as Hallowe'en, but the kids had the good grace to run away before the door was opened.

That sounds suspiciously like ' knock down ginger ' - knock on someones door and then do a runner
( a bit like the royal mail parcel service but without the 'while you were in/out card ' ):p

It's for kids, US, you grumpy old sod!

My 4yo has been looking forward to tomorrow for WEEKS. She has a halloween party to go to and they will be trick or treating some of their friends addresses. No harm done.
And I hope your kids have a lovely time. I loved Haloween when I was little. That was some time ago and we used to bob for apples and such - great fun.

But why does that give some moronic chavs the right to roam around chucking stuff at people and demanding gifts from strangers?

What really pisses me though is that my dogs go bonkers every time the bell goes. Imagine what fun I will have putting up with that every 20 mintues for 4 hours tomorrow!

Typical British adoption of something American-it gets done half assed.

In North America it's simple-if you have a carved pumpkin with a lit candle inside or some form of obvious Haloween decorations: trick or treaters welcome. No pumpkin, decorations or lights on-no trick or treaters.

Let the sprogs enjoy themselves.

I'll get my wife to stand at the upstairs front bedroom window with a torch shone under her chin. That will be enough to scare the shit out of any chav tomorrow night.

I HATE Haloween. What a crock of SHIT it is. Loads of young chavs and pikeys banging on your door from 5pm - 10pm whilst you are trying to have a quiet night in watching the X Factor.

Any kid that knocks on the door of Spielberg Towers tomorrow evening will have my Golden Shower set on them.

:US::US:

That will certainly stop them knocking twice

Take your children round to a stranger's house, maybe an old dear lives there, who is terrified by a knock on the door at night, and then beg from or threaten them. How the f*** did that ever take off over here?

More shite ott Americana creeping into our culture.

Used to live on Alice Bright Lane in Crowborough. Named after a poor Victorian lady who drowned in the stream that runs under the bridge at the bottom of the road. Dark, deep lane, very few houses and a genuine ghost of a woman who died a horrible death as she was repeated dragged under the water until she drowned. Trick or treaters? Never had any.

PS the odd thing here was that when I tried to add the picture - showing the point where the death stream runs in a torrent under the lane - it just would not show up. Now, that may be the setting on the site where I copied the image, but it may just be .......?
