But what is the Bottle-o sells cans as well? Surely it is no longer doing what it says on the tin?
Quite. But maybe that's called the can-o? (or the tinny-o?) And you get crisps at the crisp-o

Bottle-o. Mind you from a country that blows logs with a stupid name and has large bouncing rabbit-like things also with a stupid name I suppose 'bottle-o' isn't too bad. I'll leave you with a quote from the Simpsons:

Adolescent shop keeper: What's that?
Bart: It's a bullfrog.
Adolescent shop keeper: That's a stupid name. I'd have called them chuzzwuzzers.

In New England, they're called 'packies', after 'package store' -- liquor in packages vs. liquor-by-the-drink. "Who's up for a packie run?", e.g.

But when I lived in the Carolinas no one knew what the hell I was talking about.

Off license- the license holder is permitted to sell intoxicating liquor for consumption OFF the premises.

Pubs have an on-license, that is to say they may sell the same for consumption ON the premises.

On-license never took off though, pub is so much better.

Bottle-o, I ask you :lolol:

Usually called a take out here, but offy would be understood. However, "bottle-o" sounds like something a bunch of skangers do to someone who unwittingly enters Ballymun after 11pm

That'll be Threshers mate, they have bought most of the Unwins stores. Shame because they have all turned shit now, the Unwins shops weremuch better, apart from the end when they had no stock.
