He's teaching a group of whales in his house. He's home schooling.
Whales swim in pods not schools, so there!

I'd have a long hard look at the list of fish he has for sale, most of it is not local. The boats and nets by the locker are hardly ever used but the piles of stackable fish boxes are, when his fish is collected from the fish market.
The process started quite some time back, a few others used to do the same trick and may still do. Selling off the beach means a lot less overheads such as rent, rates etc. Anyway, even many of the locals will happily buy " Local" Cod in June despite it being out of season locally. The dirty rotten scoundrel! To be honest though l don't much care who catches some of it, what l buy certainly seems fresh enough to me, and the missus and l enjoy it, which is the main thing.
Cue all the fish puns.
Perhaps eventually someone might have a go at answering the original question. Doubt it though.
He’s open, in the car park now about to walk the dogfish.
You`re right, there`s no way one bloke in a rickety old boat is going to go out overnight in these conditions and catch such an array of local fish! Like most local fishmongers, he`ll be in Newhaven at the crack of dawn where all the fresh produce from around the country is brought to, filling his crates, bringing it back to Goring and flogging it for 3 x the price! Fair play to him though, stocking perishable produce like fresh fish and selling it from that shack at this time of year when the weather can be foul and no one is about.I'd have a long hard look at the list of fish he has for sale, most of it is not local. Is that the guy with the dodgy mullet. Now it isn't quite in the Goring Gap l grant you, but walking from the Sea Lanes Cafe in an easterly direction towards Worthing, within about ten minutes you come across a shack on the beach, from where a local fisherman sells his catch, (his boat can be found on the beach next to it).
The guy sells the most amazingly fresh fish, much of it caught himself the previous night. The past few times l have been down hoping to make my usual purchase, although his boat is there, the shack has been boarded up. I'm wondering if Covid has prevented him from fishing, does anyone else know him, or have any ideas?
I lived in Worthing for 50 years and pretty certain this guy is out fishing everyday when the weather permits.
He used to fly a Union Jack when his stall was open, don’t know whether he still does?
Contrary to a previous post you can catch cod in June off the Sussex coast. You just need the knowledge to find them.
After all is said and done let’s not carp on about it too much.
Was also open last Friday when I stopped in the car park for a coffee
