Carting him off seemed a bit harsh.
In the aftermath I would have just booted him out and told him not to be so silly, in future.
No names no pack drill.
From the BT cameras - his mate pushed and nudged in the back and ultimately he ended up jumping on the other side of the advertising hoardings? Ridiculous to be thrown out for that.

Pitch invaders face bans and police action

Judging by this statement it looks like common sense has left the building and he's got a life ban and off a gulag in the salt mines. I know they are monitored by why didn't the stewards just bundle him back into the crowd. The least malicious 'pitch invasion' you will see and almost looks like he was pushed too.

As a club you don’t condone it when a home fan pitch invades, but it’s one of those things. The issue is during covid imagine if he gave it to one of the players or an opposition fan gave it to an away team and they could directly trace it to us not being able to crowd control. The possible litigation it opens up could be considerable.
The Chelsea fan that lost his phone whilst being escorted out. The ref picked it up and shoved it in his pocket.
And confirming there were three fans who ran on after the whistle and all three were taken away. But as an away fan, in this case Chelsea, do they get the same 3 year footballing ban and how does a club know? Surely it's easy enough to buy tickets for mates.
As my dad would say about banning orders, 'they're not worth the paper they're written on' - or summat like that. To ban someone would entail all the stewards to a) know who to look out for and b) have time to actually look at the faces as people come in. A hat, a face mask, if a banned person wants to come in, i'd guess it's pretty easy.
I fear the club has lost all sense of perspective.

strongly agree not allowed on pitch , i think that lad is 14-15 , and looked petrified with his hands in a surrender position .
Stewards should/could have noticed his youth and not treated him so roughly .
As a youngster at the goldstone i used to invade the pitch as a matter of course , surprised i didnt do it at half time as well
