I reckon Goring beats 1066 as the number 1 attention seeker on here.
He's always been the same even before he moved to Huddersfield.
He gets bored at work and sees how many moaning posts he can make. I reckon he even has bets with his workmates as to how many bites he gets from his bait.

We won't sell it out unless we're successful.

Top tier German footbal is £12 apparantly.

That would be nice.. and would help!

The days of working with Virgos Haircut and Safeway - those were the days.

Funnily enough though this "great dirty Northern slum" as you put it got a spanking great new stadium without to much hassle.

Well go and watch the team that plays there instead of posting a shit thread about potential crowds in Flamer as you call it!

When and if Brighton get Falmer there will obviously be a swell in attendances due to the novelty factor of having a new ground but i think 18k is stretching the imagination a bit far to be honest.

Depends what division we are in when we get Falmer as to what the attendances may be.

I have been a few times - but i don't like watching football in a half empty stadium - depressing -

You didn't say that in October.

Can someone please explain why and where all these extra thousand sof fans will come from when Falmer is built if we are still doing poorly on the field.

I saw an obscene post on here earlier caliming we would be getting 18k a week when it's built maybe first few game sor so - but if the team are losing people still won't go - even in better facilities - whatever people say they won't be cheaper to attend than Withdean - so if we are still bottom of league one why will people come?

As i've said people wil judge the Albion on results and if the ticket policy is still a hassle e.g not paying on gate i can't see crowds getting much better unless results do - and if crowds don't get better we'll have no more cash potentially less with a massive debt over our heads. The playing side must be financed and soon.

All the tripe of big invetsors why would a big investor want a poor league one side when there are plenty of championship premier sides available?

I'm not always glad that I am me, but I am ALWAYS glad that I am not Goring Gull.

Haven't you perhaps thought that when Falmer is built we might have a bit more investment in the club playing side?
Therefore a more succesful team attracting bigger crowds.

Have a look at this link about new stadiums:

http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/6190077.stm

You will see some sides improved when they went to new grounds but others didn't.

Let's be rational here. Is there any reason why the Albion shouldn't expect roughly the same sort of crowds that Plymouth Argyle get?

Brighton & Hove population = 249,000
Plymouth population = 256,000

Plymouth Argyle's average crowd this season = 13,674 (middling in the Championship), with a highest crowd of 17,088.

Plymouth Argyles's average crowd the season they won promotion into the Championship = 12,654, with the biggest crowd being an end of season match that drew 19,888.

Plymouth Argyle's crowd the previous season (no promotion, but top half) = 8,981, with a maximum of 11,922.

In other words, we should expect crowds for a League One team not destined for promotion to be about 35 per cent down on what a team will get in the Championship.

And a decent team in a decent stadium in a city the size of Brighton and Hove needs to plan for a capacity of around 22,000, with the expectation that about 13-14 thousand will show up when we are doing OK.

Falmer looks about right to me. To sign up to Goring Gull's pessimism is to embrace failure.

Is it true we need gates of 12000 to break even?If that is the case i still can't see there will be much money available.Still we can attract better players to a new stadium and pick up better freebies

I'd say Plymouth is a more working class city - plus less Cockneys living there.

No. We need gates of about 12,000 to generate enough income for the Stadium Business Plan to work. That means 12,000 will leave the Club with enough money to pay off the loans AND run the Club properly.

But running the Club properly includes ensuring that the wage bill isn't stupid and that we live within our overall income.

The delay to Falmer is, of course, pushing costs up. It may well be that the target gate will need to be higher than the original projections allowed for.
