Also agree wholeheartedly with this.
However if we are hoping for faster pace going forward with less passes going astray should Sami be realistically looking to release Greer? I'm quite surprised this hasn't been discussed in more depth here

Release? Leeds wanted to pay for him, we gave him a new contract and he played a important part in one of the best defences in the league. You don't give that away

Kemi might do well in a SH side..... CMS too.

I would agree with that.

Liverpool were built on every team at all levels playing the same way and each player doing his own job. I remember Mark Lawrenson telling me that it was John Barnes job to get the ball in the box and preferably in the 6yd box and Ian Rush to get on the end of it. If nobody was in the box it wasn't JB fault if the pass went to nobody and he wouldn't get blamed for it as he had done his job.

For my season ticket money I want to be entertained. I'm not particularly bothered about what division we are in because I'd still continue to support my team. Despite finishing in the play-offs I don't feel that cleans sheets and too few goals is either entertainment or value for money. OK, possession football means we should have a better chance of clean sheets but it should also mean more goals. I just hope whatever system SH deploys it is entertaining and he has us occasionally jumping up out of our seats in excitement.

I'm sure we will continue the possession football.

This might have been something I would have worried about, but after a Steve McClaren side out "Spained" us I am not sure we ever really had it down anyway.

We actually need more of a plan than just keeping possession. In fact for two seasons running we have kept possession really really well, but it's not been enough on it's own.

The model for possession and passing is the club ethos and basis for recruitment of players. The concept will stay but the manager will apply his own take.

Thanks Greens :(
I posted this on another thread, and wonder if SH will bring in the Liverpool of old, pass-and-move ethos ??? During training, if a player passed, then didn't immediately move to make themselves available for a return pass, which may or may not arrive, they had to do twenty press-ups. This leading to a fluid, constant motion style of play :)
