Were you a regular of the Eclipse during the 80s 90s on a matchday ? , pretty much lost all contact with the lads and lasses during the time elapsed at Withdean , sure the tacchini wont fit anymore and the hair may have thinned somewhat but where are you now ? hope to be bumping into a few old faces from the past on saturday, and saturday cant come soon enough .

remember early 2000's it was still a decent meeting place for fans who couldn't get to away games - remember going in their to listen to the Huddersfield game that secured Albions promotion the day after the Peterborough game , and watched the Brentford and Stoke away games in their too back in ITV digital days.

Used to pop in there with 'Burl' Ives,.. 'Ollie' Campbell and a few other Lancing reprobates pre match in early 80's,... great spot until the police sussed our presence and we then shifted to the Railway Bell outside Brighton station.

the dart board position always amazed me as it was en route to the toilets , great little pub the organised awaydays were to say the least interesting

Was the place to be in the 80's, plenty of away coach trips arranged from there always remember "Killer" pool being played until it got to full, sean from Worthing having his tash shaved for charity and the day Pompy arrived, decided to throw a bottle through the window and then legged it when they saw us come out included loads of the "older" locals who didnt even go to football.
Ken was a great landlord, always looked after us when we were there. Used to get there as he opened the doors at 12 noon. Fantastic memories of that place and the era.

I am not a fan of Pub name changes don't start me on the Ancient Mariner or the Red Lion (should be the Mary Packs) but I really like the Poets Corner. I love the open fire in the Public Bar and the general urbanness of it all. Who remembers the fire at the Eclipse circa 1986?

Was in the exchange last night. The landlord is trying to encourage the Albion crowd to use the pub pre & post match and is offering happy hour prices to anyone who shows a valid match ticket or swipe card. Doesn't just apply to Saturday's. Sounds like a pretty good deal to me and am definitely going to take advantage. would be very happy to see the Ex become an Albion pub again as is currently more of a spurs pub and I hate spurs.
