What do others think of them?

Personally, despite their biggest album coming out 7 and a half years before I was even born, and despite them not having released an album of new material in my lifetime (although apparently that will change this year), I love them.

Songs like Take It Easy, Lyin' Eyes, Desperado, I Can't Tell You Why, Take It To The Limit and of course Hotel California are classics in my view, and their famous 'Eagles Harmonies' still sound (on their latest DVD at least) as good as ever.

Despite their 14 year 'vacation' (as they put it), they still attract sell-out crowds of all ages to their shows, and they had one of the biggest grossing tours in the world in 2005.

So, NSC, what do you make of them?

Or bringing country rock into the mainstream? Gram parsons was fantastic but more counrty and Western than country rock imo.

The Kings of country rock were undoubtably the Byrds, with the Gram Parsons input and Poco imo. Just because the Eagles were more commercial makes absolutely no difference. Fantastic band live back in the 70's. Have no interest in seeing their money inspired 90's and 00's tours anymore than the Who and the Stones though thanks. Don't make any of them shit, they had their day and in those days they were all top notch.
