The Downside of Sudden Fame

I was in Worthing last night watching a band, and there was a lad in a stripey 'Donatello' top.
A couple of times between tunes, I heard "can you hear the palace sing" and ''se-gowls" from this person.

Now I'm not at all embarrassed by anything Albion, in fact dead proud of supporting our club and won't hide my affiliations with BHAFC. However - maybe it's age or usual sobriety that tends to make me squirm a bit about such overtness that has nothing to do with the moment?

The sight of a lug swaying about fist in the air at any unrelated occasion is likely to become more common I'm afraid. That "we are big and successful and I'm (thick and thin) Albiooon" type of newbie is going to pervade and proliferate.

Then on the other hand.... there will be yer "where were you when we were playing at Gillingham" snobs too.

Oh bloody, it's just going to have to be friggin' annoying sometimes.
