Cheshire Cat
The most curious thing..
So if some people won't pay these prices for Newcastle, which team would they be prepared to pay to see?
No I don't think they are it is the home side that decides
Yes, it was me inferred! Doubt all you like but it was the case in my circumstances. Just accept this, what don't you get? Not that anyone has to explain themselves to anyone else - just enjoy the result as we all did, there or on the TV it doesn't matter!!He person he quoted said he would have gone if tickets were £25. Tickets were on sale at £28 and didn't sell out, so why does £3 make that much difference to them going and did he think that a £3 reduction have sold another 3 to 6k more seats, something i very much doubt.
There are those who decided that a combination of the price and the fact it was free to watch at home on TV meant they didn't go and i doubt a small reduction in ticket prices would have changed their minds and i think the majority of those who would have gone actually went today.
The argument does not fall down because it was a lunch time kick off. Everyone who went would have had to include additional food, whether a packed lunch, take out, or food from the concourse in their overall budget for the game.
If it wasn't on FREE TV it would have been very much a full house or very close. FREE TV was the difference, not the pricing.

It was a factor along with PRICE! Christ on a bike, anyone who thinks price isn't an influence in sales deserves to be called stupid. For the record, I'm calling you stupid...
Club got it wrong, and I was there today.
Maybe ST holders should be offered their seat on a pro rata price for a limited time when compared to their season ticket. After that then normal matchday prices apply.
Your thoughts?
*bangs head*
The WHOLE point is that it was probably priced correctly for a non TV 3pm kick off. Given that it was a lunchtime kickoff on free TV, price was the one thing that could have been used to get a full house. And we didn't get even close to a full house.

It was excellent, but could have been better because it was far from a sell out compared to league and plenty fans would have attended IF same cost or less than ST price it seems. Depends what club wants - if one fan is prepared to pay half million quid for a stadi themselves, could be argued don't let anyone else in. Another ridiculous argument but seems everyone likes extremes on this thread so I don't mind adding this to the fore!I think people need to look around at other clubs and look at the price they charged and the attendance, no championship club topped our attendance. If you look at Palace and Bolton who both played premiership clubs. 21,700 odd for a lunchtime and TV game is excellent. The price will no doubt be the same if we get premiership side at home in the next round and the same people will moan. Maybe we should have be beaten today and saved a lot of fans money. Just imagine a cup run of home games
Yeah ok. Listen if it was £10, some people would have chosen to stay at home and watch it on TV! My ticket was free (1901) but I stayed at home and watched it on TV.
Stupid prawn sandwich muncher....
'twas a great game on TV too wasn't it
