No thanks, can't stand Oasis and I am well aware that the Cure evolved. They have written some excellent poppy tunes (In Between Days, Just Like Heaven, The Perfect Girl, Lovesong) but they also produced 2 unique, darkly beautiful albums in Faith and Pornography, so to play bibble like The Walk instead of The Drowning Man, All Cats are Grey, Faith, The Figurehead, One Hundred Years, Cold etc annoys me.
I guess though that it's partly what they themselves want to play / enjoy playing as well?

Love the new album.

Reminds me of Disintegration.

One of my favourite albums.

Even though I only listen to it once every few years. To remember a lost loved one by.

Mad that it was their 8th studio album in 1989.

Hugely prolific during those years.
Nah. They used to churn them out regularly back then. They had a (comparatively) decent break prior to Disintegration.
The most staggering achievement is Stevie Wonder who produced three of the greatest albums of all time in the space of six months, one of which was a double album.
Apparently Robert Smith has produced three albums worth of material alongside this one. There's SfaLW, a poppy one, and an experimental one that will go out under Robert's name.

The Cure have a 3 hour free stream not many bands would do that. Endsong is a stunning masterpiece. A band and song as good as it can get

Somerset
Just watching the livestream again this morning whilst working from home and noticed that Simon Gallups guitar seems to have the Somerset dragon on it. A group of chaps used to drink in my local bar in Bath and one of them claimed to be Simons father, and i had no reason to doubt him. However i can't find anything to support this online, only that Simon was born in Surrey. Is there any connection to Somerset? or was this bloke bullsh*tting me and it's also not the Somerset Dragon?

I'm pretty certain it's a Chinese Lion, but I'm not sure why he has it on his new basses.
Certainly doesn't look like a dragon or Wyvern as there are no wings.

One thing that's objectively true is that Alexis Petedris will never be caught picking the obvious answer, no matter how correct it is.

So now I know who to blame for Wolves' come back.

He'll probably end up a Brighton fan. We're the pseuds choice.
