Or the best manager a team has ever had,i am of course refering to Mr .J Gannon.

Am i alone in thinking that he was told of new chairman being installed yet still chose to see the season out with stockport as he had always promised when it became apparent they were in deep trouble.

The manager saga that was is he isnt he has now gone by the by and we have a fantastic manager in Mr Slade it seems, but in these times of dog eat dog his actions seem to me to be that of either a madman or simply a bloody good all round bloke.

At the last game v stockport i found myself sinking into my seat on hearing the abuse directed at Gannon from our fans,i couldnt quite get my head round what he had done wrong, and still cant to be honest.

So my question for the panel is this,do you think he would have been told of the takeover and funding ect?

The whole situation confuses me. Surely the Bloom takeover can't have just been a spur of the moment thing, so you do get the impression Gannon would've been made aware of the funding available at Brighton. Which just shows his immense loyalty to Stockport

I feel so sorry for the bloke regardless though. As the saying goes, there is no such thing as loyalty in football, but Gannon was completely loyal to the club that he loved, but the financial crisis at the club forced him out.

Good luck to him in whatever he does in the future. We need more people like him in the game and less of these Martin Allen and Ian Holloway type journeymen that can't stay at a club for a season.

I would'nt of thought he would've stayed if he knew he was going to get P45'ed down the road...

'Illogical Captain...'

yes it is thats why you were 1st to answer as usual :lolol:

Could you explain further as I would be delighted to participate in a child like squabble due to my boredom of the boring and uninteresting drivel that has been posted on here for the past few weeks.

Either I am having severe turns of chronic De Ja Vu or people are un-thoughtfully repeating themselves over and over again.

Trying to get back to the question posed. I suspect that it was not all about loyalty to Stockport, but about the upheaval of his young family.

I don't believe he would have been made aware of the Bloom situation completely. I'd imagine they would have made it clear that the stadium was full steam ahead, but no more than that.

Oh, and of course we were odds on to go down, no manager wants that on their CV, no matter if it's attributable to them or not.

I don't feel sorry for him at all. He turned us down, that was his decision. If he is as good a manager as everyone suggests, surely he'll find his feet sooner or later.

Pissed us about for a week and a bit, then fecked off back oop north. I'm still not convinced we wern't used as something of a "bargaining chip" in a misguided attempt to strengthen his own position at Stockport - kind of a "sort it out or I'll be off, look I've got offers on the table..."

Backfired BIG time.

I think he was mainly getting grief at the game for his greviously bad haberdashery.

Fawn coloured suit and black shoes. Per-lease

I don't believe that for a minute. Stockport were broke: the fans knew it and Gannon certainly knew it - you can't try to get more money out of an organisation that hasn't got any.

Amazingly, I think he was telling the truth, he didn't want to uproot his young family.

I think the leader of North Korea wins this award, heard he was very ill.
Let's hope he croaks soon before he decides to aim the next missile at South Korea.
