Not only that, they also changed all four wheels on the bed in 3.4 seconds.

Wow. They’ve already delivered 40 to a hospital! F1 teams are world leaders at problem solving then turning designs into manufactured real things very very quickly. Impressive.

Ahem Hugo, my friend. Don't forget UCL's research people in this as well. F1 couldn't do it on their own realistically.

Also suggestions in the Reuters article from Prof Ferguson that as many as 40% are asymptomatic (suspect that is conservative but we’ll see) and that 2-3% of UK already been infected (again perhaps a little low).

Maybe the NHS can ask if BBC can lend them the beds for a while could come in handy.

Despite how fast the hoarders are emptying supermarket shelves, they are being replenished every day, hopefully they will eventually realise that the supply chains are actually pretty good and they don't need 100 toilet rolls.

Also people are going back to their local retailers and keeping them afloat when they looked like they were going to the wall.

Doesn't that mean that when this crisis over the price of loo rolls will go way down (some might say "in the toilet").

Indeed. Very remiss of me. Looks like they had the plan and selected Merc F1 as the perfect partner to achieve their aim.

Seems that they’ll be moving to the 4th phase fairly rapidly:

1. Find existing product & reverse engineer.
2. Redesign and improve.
3. Manufacture prototypes and test.
4. Manufacture up to 1,000 per day & distribute.
5. Save lives.
