I've got a funny feeling this thread's gonna get bounced this time next year. If CKR gets a hatfull next year he'll become a legend to Junior and everyone slating him now.

good potential though

Don't give us that 'potential' shit, even in jest. It's a cop-out, pure and simple. Wasn't true in Dan Harding's case, and is even less true for CKR. He's a flash petulant kiddie with, sure, a couple of flash touches on the ground.

But he's not HUNGRY to win the ball and he's non-existent in the air. Waste of quarter of a million quid. Get rid.

Has only earned us two points all season, and he will never make a centre forward as long as he has a hole in his arse.

He wasn't that bad today, but really should have done better with the one on one

Could be the biggest waste of £250,000 EVER!!

Was absolutley shocking today, our Championship survival hinged on him putting that ball away today and he bottled it.

The money could have been spent much more wisely IMO on someone who could have contributed much more that a bag load of tricks and flicks:angry:

Maybe im just angry about today still but the kid was piss poor today, and has been a dissapoinment all season IMO.

Really, I didn't go to the last two games, but considered opinion had it that he was BRILLIANT last week. Thanks for letting me know that he's CRAP now.

i was disgusted that he was, by all accounts, SHOWBOATING, last week. Never said anything at the time cos I never went. But that guy's got absolutely nothing to showboat about, and I hope Mcghee ripped his head off for it.

He said after the match that he did have a word with him about it.

Kev, CKR and Gifton were totally the wrong attitude. Gift could of buried two chances whilst CKR had a clear cut oppurtunity. It was all volleys and no professional touches.

You don't showboat chasing a game like that.

I thought CKR was ok today, remember he is still young and learning.

Total bollocks. Joel Lynch is 'still young and learning'. and is already accepted as a full-on member of the squad through his playing abilities. Like Adam El-Abd and Adam Virgo before him. IF CKR's deemed worthy of making the starting line-up week in week out, then he's worthy of being judged on his merits or otherwise. Reckon what we're seeing with CKR is the finished article. Which is of little use to the Albion.

Steady on, yes, CKR was trying far too much of the fancy stuff, but to accuse Gifton of having the wrong attitude? He's here on loan, gave his all, but ultimately their keeper had the better of him. The only volleys i can recall were a weak Carole bicycle kick and a volley at the back post that was blazed over, again by Carole...

I agree that being in the first team he should be judged on his merits and not defended against all criticism by the "potential" tag, but that does not mean he is the finished article. I believe if a good manager got his hands on CKR he could be a very good player.

I don't agree about the finished article, remember this is his first season in the Championship. League two to the Championship is a big jump remember. League One could be his league you never know.

I have a bit of sympathy with junior's view of him as I felt the season effectively ended when he missed that chance. He does have potential and apart from the misss, I thought he was OK today. What he's lacked all season to help him develop is a big target man next to him and it all goes back to not getting one at the beginning of the season.
DK seems to have a bit of a post BZ obsession that we have to but ones for the future but I feel this logic is misplaced. If you look at Watford and Luton, two clubs in loads of debt that can't be in that much of a different financial situation, they ensured they had King and Howard respectively and game plans to ensure they were used effectively, part of the reason for the contrast in their season and ours.
If CKR had one of these two playing with him, and a consistent game plan plus a side motivated, it all could have been so different...maybe!!

His main problem is that he doesnt look up for it a lot of the time, his one saving grace yesterday was that great block tackle he did which then almost set up a goal - that's what he needs to do for 90 minutes show total commitment not for nine minutes each game. If he does he will get many more supporters.

He's young, he's got potential - seems to be a good accuse for his fans (see many Robinson threads).

League One could be his league as it is Leon Knight's, if he has a Leon Knight like season next year and we get promoted maybe that will be the time to cash him in for a proven Championship striker rather than risk him in the Championship again.

getting relegated could be a blessing in disguise...

in a lower division if gives CKR, Jake and Gatting a chance to score goals get confident and improve there game and come back to the championship more confident, stronger and wiser...

lets get behind our youngsters...

the futures bright.... the futures brighton...

I believe he has all the attributes to be an excellent player. Not impressed with the sitting on the ground looking all miffed because he didn't get the free kick which comes out most games. He probably has twice the ability of OGH, but has he got the "fire in the belly" that OGH has? Next season will be when we find out though.

That pretty much somes it up accurately. we need to instill the attitude of OGH in CKR. At present the jury has to be out on CKR and we will have to see whether that sulky attitude can be got out of him in a lower division where i think his ability will allow him to score goals. At present his attitude when something doesn't come off or the decision goes the other way is bloody annoying. Just get on with it mate!:censored:

So all young players are either just brilliant or shit, they can't develop into good players?

Had he scored that one on one I expect everyone on here would of been saying how well he played. Apart from that miss I thought that his performance was quite good, he was the only spark we had up front and made a couple of excellent runs.
There's definitley parts of his game he needs to work on and he needs to sort out his attitude a bit but with the right coaching I'm sure he'll become a great player.
