got to be realistic...

there are not brilliant(yet) nor r they shit...

thats t we have to get behind these players and see them develope into good players...

atleast give them the chance to develope...

I thought he played really well today. His hold up play was brilliant he made lots of runs very strong on the ball not bad for a 19 year old kid. This player will be one hell of a player soon.I cant believe the abuse he is getting on here.
Totally agree. MM said when signing him the money was an investment. I think it will do him good to have a season in Div 1. The jump from Bury to championship was maybe too much for an 18 year old in what is a very poor team, but I believe he has skill, strength and more ability then any other striker we have on our books. The biggest problem we may have is hanging on to him when he does score regularly.

Could be the biggest waste of £250,000 EVER!!

Was absolutley shocking today, our Championship survival hinged on him putting that ball away today and he bottled it.

The money could have been spent much more wisely IMO on someone who could have contributed much more that a bag load of tricks and flicks:angry:

Maybe im just angry about today still but the kid was piss poor today, and has been a dissapoinment all season IMO.

I imagine he has been ripped to pieces for saying this already but Junior this is a load of shit. He played well today, showed flashes of real quality. He has amazing skill and will need time to improve the tactical side of his game.

He has talent but also an ego to match. I was at the front watching them warm-up yesterday and CKR's attitude was shocking. He looked like he didn't give a shit and got the hump when Booker told him to sort it out.

I think people are mistaking what they call a sulky attitude, for what is actually a lad who is trying desperately hard to do well

CKR seems to do best when he doesn't have to think about it. The bodyswerve and shot he had early in the 2nd half were brilliant - just too close to the keeper. I think that also explains why most of his goals have been instinctive (and spectacular) shots. For the 1-on-1 he had a great chance to lob the keeper from about 25 yards out but never looked like he had enough confidence to carry it out. He'd almost stopped when the keeper got to him and it looked like he couldn't work out what to do next.

What annoyed me was his effort in training. The forwards were shooting at Chaigneau. OGH and GNW were taking it seriously at getting pretty much all of them in, CKR was seeing how hard he could hit it, blasting most of them way over into the East Stand. Saw him having a go at the ballboy for not getting him the ball quickly enough. One of the shots he did he connected with and it went miles + miles over, went down holding his foot and went straight to the changing rooms, limping, and shrugged off anyone that went to talk to him.

Thought he was not bad in the second half, but him, Reid, Hammond + GNW were non existent in the first half

colin has not read this post but he's dad has and he feels it's about time some of the critisisms on here were answered, so here goes.

First of all Colin and he's famlily now regaurd NSC as an abrieviation for NON STOP CRAP. His dad is finding the game by game debate on Colin very interesting to put it politely. He takes comfort and solice in the fact that the detractors (on this board) will have little bearing on Colin's long term future in the game and he thanks god for that. Every week someone on this makes some kind of veiled or blatant insult towards Colin on this board. Which they accept is part of what this board is for.

Check the posts if you like even the ones that are good have some sort of dig at him. There is even one about him and Albert getting on the team bus with apparently the biggest baseball hats ever seen and then expressed wonderment as to whether they had brought there guns in their bags. Check back.

With that type of attitude or belief I'm afraid is how Colin and his family believe he is being judged by most people. Rubbish some of you say. Not so nice when the very same accusation is levied at some of you.

As for yesterday A bad miss by Colins own standards let alone anyone else's I know Colin feels that the keeper stood up very well at edge of the box and he got caught in two minds. But his dad reckons that Colin's natural instincs would meant him doing a trick or two to go round the keeper. Something he was chastised for doing in last weeks game. Even though Colin dissagrees his dad is adamant that he would taken a different approach to that oppertunity, had he still no had that rebuke fresh in his mind. He adds that it is not an excuse he should still of scored

No disrespect Colin is not Gary Hart, but some of you are confusing his style and technique with your ill informed opinion on his attitude. Colin and his family are not saying that his game or his attitude are spot on but it is a far cry from a lot of the accusations on here.

If you knew the whole facts about his time theand experiences at Brighton a lot of you would shut the f--k up, but then again some of you wouldn't. Some of you think that because he plays football he''s privillaged and should put up with all the shit that is thrown at him. BOLLOCKS. Colin has worked his nuts for the last twelve years and is still working just as hard. His style and demenour does not suit everyone but the same can be said for any player.

To call him a clown and to say get rid he's useless is ridiculous but Colin and his family will be happy to meet and discuss this. To say that because of his miss yesterday we are going down is so far of the mark it has to be a joke. It is also very personal and insulting and really is not going to help at the minute.

Sorry, but I just can't see CKR developing in the ways that count next season. I'm sure he'd be the first to admit that he struggles to make any kind of impact in aerial challenges, and he seems none too keen on the more physical aspects on the ground either - and there's much more likelihood of him getting kicked from pillar to post in Division One. He just seems to lack the natural aggression to attack the ball, and I'm not at all sure that any amount of coaching will change that. Shame, really, cos he has some really good touches.

You've lost me there, as I said earlier he has the makings of an excellent player but I don't understand why criticism of his attitude is ill informed. Sitting on the ground looking pissed off rather than getting up and chasing is not a good trait imo and it's not something that I imagine is it?. He may not be OGH but he could learn somthing from his attitude. For what it's worth, if we don't sell him to balance the books, I reckon he will be awesome next season, as long as we get a strong experienced targetman to play alongside him.

If CKR and/or his dad read nsc they should realise that most of whats written on here is heat of the moment stuff or just total bollocks. As fans we pay the right to critisise players whether justified or not, its the nature of the beast.

If we dont win we look for somebody to blame, the miss that what us fans regard as a sitter (rightlyly or wrongly) would have drawn us level and from there we could have gone onto win the game, whoever had missed it would have been blamed for the defeat

I Would love to see him playing under a manager who knows how to get the best out of him because i for one feel there is plenty to look forward to.

So come on Colin 95% of us will back you as long as you proud to play in the stripes and show it - you could be the next Albion legend .

Colin is one of the strongest players at the club. His heading is not hest best attribute he admited this at the start of the season. Yet we continue to make this the main target of passes to him. His feet are as good as anyone elses, perhaps all considered he doesn't conspire the to what the style of play that the club and some of the fans at this club require.

That being the argument would create a different case to debate. Put in Southamton's team yesterday do yo honestly believe he would not of caused problems (ITV thought he was the only positive force for Brighton, but what do they know). If you really believe not we'll have to beg to differ.

Perhaps you should check back through NSC's posts and you'll find that when there are any attempts at petty racism they are usually shot down in flames by the vast majority here. Even the majority of idiots who slag off CKR do so purely on footballing matters. Do not take one pathetic post about baseball hats and then practically call us racists.
I said that I felt the season effectively ended with that miss but if you bothered to read it carefully, you will see that it could have been anyone and that my post was generally supportive of CKR, as has a hell of a lot of other ones which you have chosen to ignore!
