I can remember applauding an Albion player if he killed a ball dead from a high cross, how the quality of player has changed

Those heady days when a Nathan Jones stepover was the highlight of the season, and managing to hack the ball through a Withdean mud puddle counted as ‘skillz’.

I'm always struck by had it been the other way round.

Sockboy would have hit the deck.
Haha jokes on him.

Then I remember the outcome of all that trickery, pretty much in from of me. (I even put my book down)
Nothing.

Whereas Sockie would have earned a free kick.
KDB or whoever to take.

Certainly more chance of a goal than our end result.
