[Football] "The Club That George Built" - Worthing FC documentary on TNT Sports, October 1st

Know there are specific Worthing FC and Non League threads, but thought this was worth its own thread.

Anyone who went to a game at Woodside last season may have noticed a camera crew going round doing lots of filming as part of this documentary that was commissioned by TNT about the club, and specifically owner George Dowell's incredible story. While his story has been covered in the media before, a full documentary on how inspirational he is has been long overdue.

I was lucky enough to go to the premiere at the Dome Cinema earlier this week. It did a wonderful job of telling George's story, along with documenting what was one of the more dramatic seasons in the club's history in 2023/24. Hit all the emotions along the way: laughter, crying, barely being able to watch the Play-off Final footage v Braintree back...simply brilliant. To fit as much as they did into the 70 minute run time (imagine the broadcast will be nearer 90mins with ads) was superb - know a lot was left on the cutting room floor, including my own interview to camera that was filmed back in March 😂

It's set to air on TNT Sports/Discovery+ after their Champions League Coverage next Tuesday (October 1st) at 10:30pm. Highly recommend tuning in, or taping to watch at a later date.

For reference, a news article about it on the TNT Website: https://www.tntsports.co.uk/football/club-that-george-built-worthing-fc_sto20039662/story.shtml

Also a lovely review of it of it on the The Argus website from Brian Owen, who was also in attendance at the Dome: https://www.theargus.co.uk/sport/24613098.george-dowell-worthing-fc-film-shown-tnt-sports/
