I wonder if it’s a good thing for a team to go from League 1 to the Prem in two seasons, will they really be properly ready. We’ll certainly find out about McKenna now

If it hadn't been for a certain goal-less draw at Southampton it might have happened to us - and I would certainly have thought that was a bloody good thing! - at the time anyway; no knowing how it would have turned out.

Doesnt Ipswich have an option to buy if they were promoted. We may well have lost him for good, which I think would be a shame

I think it's only been done 4 time before (in the Premier League era).

Watford and Man City did it in the late 90's - early 00s and both were relegated after one season in the PL.

Norwich got back to back promotions 2009-10 and 2010-11 season and spent 3 seasons in the PL.

Southampton were runners up to us in 2010-11 in League One, they then finished 2nd in the Championship in the 11-12 season. They then spent 11 seasons in the PL before being relegated last season.

Ipswich Town have joined an exclusive club with promotion today.

Since the inception of the Premier League, they have become just the fifth side to earn promotion from the third tier to the top flight.

They follow Watford (1998-99 and 1999-00), Manchester City (1999-00 and 2000-01), Norwich City (2010-11 and 2011-12) and Southampton (2011-12 and 2012-13).

Suppose it depends on the fee, but he’s been a bit-part player in their season, so not sure that they’d be that fussed.
