Good Morning and happy weekend, three groups to go.
Sorry the title of the poll is wrong, could a Mod please change to Group F? Thank you.
4-1 vs. Wolverhampton Wanderers , 2002/03 Division One
Saturday 8th February 2003, Att: 6,754
Wolves rolled up to Withdean regarded by many as certainties for promotion and boasted the meanest defence in the league, the boys in black and gold probably saw us as only a small obstacle on the road to bigger and better things. And who could blame them? Division One sides had long since cracked the Withdean code, though to be fair, a rare glimpse of what we were capable of had come in a 1-1 draw at Molineux during November (Kuipers take a bow).
Wolves dominated the early exchanges with both Proudlock and Kennedy testing Ben Roberts. But Albion refused to panic, playing with the kind of carefree abandon you sometimes get from sides resigned to their fate. Goals from Bobby, Dean Blackwell and Paul Brooker put us in control and although Kenny Miller pulled one back for Wolves, Gary Hart restored our three goal advantage.
A famous day.
From the BBC
Led by the pacey Bobby Zamora, struggling Brighton stormed to all three points as Steve Coppell's side turned in a four-star performance to claim their first win of 2003. In a lively opening period, the visitors started brightly and wasted little time in signalling their intentions.
With just two minutes gone the ball broke for Paul Ince unleashed a dipping right-footed volley that flew inches wide.
Brighton took the lead when Gary Hart raced down the left leaving the defence in his wake and when he looped the ball to the back post, Zamora arrived first ahead of Lee Naylor to score.
The Brighton fans were soon celebrating again after Dean Blackwell arrived completely unmarked to thunder home Richard Carpenter's cross.
Within two minutes of the restart Brighton had extended their lead in spectacular fashion.
The hosts broke clear when a sweeping move saw Hart and Zamora exchange passes in midfield.
After the latter had raced away down the left to clip a ball back into the box, Paul Brooker burst past his marker to finish emphatically.
Wolves hit back to earn themselves a lifeline as Mark Kennedy crossed for Kenny Miller to stoop low and head home.
But just two minutes later the host's nerves were eased as Hart capped off an industrious display and wrapped up the points with the Seagulls' fourth.

1-0 vs. Stockport County, 2008/09 League One
Saturday 2nd May, Att: 8,618
The third highest ever attendance at Withdean saw Albion pull off the greatest of escapes. Having looked certainties for relegation in March, we staged a thrilling late revival, culminating in us going into The final game of the season with our destiny in our own hands. Beat Stockport County, and we would be safe.
In the 73rd minute, visiting goalkeeper Conrad Logan parried a shot by Gary Dicker – playing on loan from County – and in nipped Nicky Forster to score the only goal of the goal. As Forster wheeled away, he could be heard shouting ‘It’s me, It’s me!’
Thanks to Russell Slade and an incredible team spirit, Albion had somehow survived. I wonder where we would be if we had lost on that day. As for County, they were relegated the following season, before long, they would be playing in the sixth tier of English football, as we sat in the Premier League.
‘Withdean felt like the best place to be that day, basking in the glory of a win. I will never forget the final scenes where some very brave (and strong) fans lifted Russel Slade aloft to thank him for saving Brighton rom the drop” (Ralph Harrison)

5-0 vs. Leyton Orient, 2010/11 League One
Saturday 1st January 2011, Att: 7,198
The game that launched us onto the League One title. Without a win since 2nd November, Albion had stuttered somewhat after an explosive start to the campaign. That said – we had still been top, but the top six were closing in fast.
A hat-trick from Glenn Murray together with a goal apiece from Ashley Barnes and Chris Wood made it a happy new year for Albion fans. We crushed our bit part rivals against a side now managed by Russell Slade, who received a hero’s welcome back to Withdean.
“I think when you look back at the result this season, the Orient one stands out, not just because of the score bt also because of hat happened in the weeks leading up to it. The results hasn’t been that good in the league or (FA) Cup, but this emphatic win seemed to put everything back on track. (Malcom Fuller)
From the BBC:
Glenn Murray scored a hat-trick as Brighton crushed Leyton Orient to maintain their League One title push. Murray's first came when he converted Chris Wood's cross, before Orient goalkeeper Jamie Jones palmed a Wood effort into his own net for 2-0.
A tap-in gave Murray his second and he grabbed his hat-trick when he converted after good work from Elliott Bennett.
Ashley Barnes scored the fifth with a close-range finish, while Orient's Adam Chambers hit the post late on.
This victory was Brighton's first in six league matches and was also Orient's first defeat in nine games.

3-0 vs. Crewe Alexandra, 2007/08 League One
Saturday 2nd February 2008, Att: 4,802
The lowest league crowd of the competition so far. Were you one of the 4,802 so saw debutant Glenn Murray to net twice on debut?
Who could have known Glenn would go on to amazingly score another 109 goals for the club in his next 286 matches. Arguably, he is the greatest striker ever in the history of Brighton & Hove Albion. This alone makes it a worthy entry.
Best not mention the first celebration though Ring a Ring o' Roses – made to do it by Guy Butters! He of course, would become infamous for his own celebration over the years.
From the BBC:
Brighton new boy Glenn Murray scored twice on his debut as his side ended a winless run of five games and left Crewe without a victory in six matches.
Murray, the Seagulls' biggest purchase for 25 years, opened his account from close range after Guy Butters headed down a corner from Dean Cox.
Crewe's Eugen Bopp hit the bar before Butters volleyed Brighton's second.
Murray hit his second before half-time, again from close range, after Nicky Forster flicked on Cox's cross.
Brighton: Kuipers, Whing, Elphick, Butters, Richards, Robinson (Martot 65), Thomson, El-Abd, Cox (McFaul 90), Forster, Murray (Gatting 90).
Subs Not Used: Mayo, Fogden.
