The best true story I have heard in ages...

I've come back home.
A guy i know works in Belgium, he is very bright but has little common sense and even less of a command of either French or Flemish. He moves to Belgium and is given his room, which is sparse. No TV, no kettle just a bed and some cupboards and it is like this for a few weeks until a colleague donates him a kettle and convinces him to invest in his life a little, 'go get a fridge to put a little food in'.

One Saturday morning of he drives to Mons, parks up in the free parking, walks up the cobbled hill, down the other side and another couple of miles to the white good shop, parts with his hard earned money and walks out with his newly purchased fridge, all packaged nicely.

He is too tight to overcome the problem of getting the purchase to the car, so struggles carrying it over the cobbled streets, up the hill down the other side and manoeuvres it into the car. Drives the 20min drive home (does pop into a shop to get some milk), struggles up the stairs to the third floor, unwraps it, plugs it in, opens the door to put his milk in and realised he had bought a freezer.

Kept me laughing for ages so I thought I would share.

Way out west
Sorry, but that story just left me cold!

I hope he didn't scratch or scrape the device in all this lugging, or he can't return it.

However a freezer is very important in saving money - buying in bulk, preserving, keeping meats from going off etc.
He'd just need to buy the cold-cabinet part separately - and they'd be simple and cheap enough to pick up.
