Not just the best team we've played but I also thought that was the best game. Some great end-to-end stuff, two teams trying to attack. I know we didn't win but it was a cracking 90 minutes

Glad to get a point out of that. I thought we shaded the first half but they totally dominated the 2nd half. They marked Vicente out of the game without leaving acres of space elsewhere, were strong, organised, first to the ball and creative. Quite a lesson.

I don't think they're the best team to play at the Amex but they were well organised and they were the best team to keep Vicente quiet IMO. Emnes is a great player, was surprised to see him go off the pitch. Robson done well too but without them two on the pitch I think they would've failed to create anything.

THat's a bit like saying So'ton are rubbish without Lambert. Oh, yes thats right.

Agree with BG, thought Robson & Emnes 'owned' us for most of the game, Boro consistently muscled us off the ball and seemed to win nearly everything in the air as well. This was definitely a case of a point won rather than two points lost.

Bailey was the man, he did the Bridcutt role only with physicality, skill, accuracy of passing and general decent end product

I just thought they completely out-fought us in the second half. We won no knockdowns or rebounds for the first 6 minutes of it and were left reeling thanks to just not feeling in control of events. In the first half we were the better side and had some good chances it was a shame went unfinished. I was expecting us to come out roaring with an unforgivable energy to us in the second, but the boot was clearly on the other foot. I was a little disappointed at our lack of movement and partial lack of understanding of each other. We seemed a bit tired and it can't work out all the time, so the brave Inigo header gave us a fortunate result in the end.
Boro knew what they were doing, but mostly, i thought, were largely flairless and simply went about their job in an uninspiring way.
I hope the pressure isn't getting to us and we try to enjoy our football without thought of an end of season placement.

Correct, my mistake, it was their No.10 Nicky Bailey, although having said that, the whole Boro midfield seemed to dominate and out muscle us. Thought our midfield were made to look very lightweight yesterday. We've got the skill but not the 'physical' presence when playing a team like Boro, and it was very nearly our undoing. Still, onwards and upwards!

Agree wholeheartedly I was pleased to see them come and give it ago and play football, the game benefited.

Much rather play a team like that in which we can enjoy a great game of football. No parking the bus, no hoofing playing channels bull.

Teams likes Boro, Us and Reading put fat Sam to shame.

Well done Boro!

Well no, I think you'll find a lot of other people also think that Emnes and Robson done most of the work and ran the show. As for the Southampton thing, they were without Lambert yesterday and against us and conceded 3 both times...

FL Show also said Southampton not the same team without Lambert & contributed to yesterday's defeat.

Enjoyed the game and they were a very good outfit, Robson was superb.
However I think praise must go to Mowbray, who IMHO used his premiership experience perfectly. They played a very high line and closed the midfield to nullify Vicente and cut down our passing game, and his team adhered to his instructions.
I think Gus had his selection wrong, Kaz and Buckers together and CMS, who has a lot more movement than Vokes would have counteracted their tactics, thus giving Vicente more time and space.
I couldnt fathom out why Buckers was roaming in the middle at times, we seemed so narrow in the 1st half.
Still a good point against a good team.

Boro were the best side I've seen at the Amex this season but I think their second half performance earned them that - had we been clinical in the first half we would have beaten them.

Calderon said the same thing after the game. Hopefully we won't be saying the same thing about Reading.
