Good film worth watching about the Beatles touring in the early days.

Saw it when it came out at the cinema. Great film with smashing concert footage to close. Really places John at the forefront as the lead singer and leader of the band.
Ringo has always been given stick for his limited abilities as a drummer over the years, but it was interesting to see the bits about the sound at these big gigs where he was having to keep the beat without being able to hear the others and using visual clues from the others. Takes a bit more to do that than these modern drummers with in ear monitors and click tracks.

Limited abilities is a myth. He was effortlessly superb, just didn't show off. You won't find a top drummer who doesn't enthuse about him
It was banter within the group. Paul played drums a couple of times in the recording studio. When asked if Ringo was the best drummer in the world, Paul replied, he's not even the best drummer in the Beatles.
Ringo also wrote songs.
All four were accomplished musicians.
That's an urban myth I'm afraid.
The quote often gets attributed to either John Lennon or Paul McCartney but in reality it was a joke made by Jasper Carrot in 1983.
Lennon was certainly a creative genius but theBeatles owed as much to McCartney. Lennon had the stronger personality but as time went on it was McCartney's drive that ensured the band achieved what it did. Lennon was rather lazy. Agree with all the comments regarding Ringo.
