Thanks for that. Interesting memories. At that time we were in the first division, before the fall and rise. Ashton Gate looked so antiquated, for a club recently in div 1. A lot has happened in 40 years.

About time Bristol city had a crack in the Premier league. Must be easily the biggest club not to make it yet.

I do remember, but I did mean the Premier league, they must be the biggest not to have been in it.

Is that the same bloke who was the highest paid Union official in the world? 🙈

The content was quite telling, Jimmy Hill saying there was too much football on TV (little did he know) and clubs living beyond their means, I wonder if we will ever have a club again asking its 8 highest wage earners to rip up their contracts?
Didnt Pompey so something along the same lines and Sol Campbell and Kanu amongst others took them to court?
