The Ashoka in Hove. New Management? Gone right down in my estimations!

A rather unenjoyable Lamb Kudary in there last night Mrs HoveB&B unimpressed with her Pasanda

In future I think we will be less lazy and jog along to the Hove Tandoori .

Anyone have any similar stories of (IMHO) Hove's former top curry emporium's apparent downturn in quality.

Hove...
Went downhill quite a few years ago TBH.
The ganges next door is better but the best has to be Nishat at top of Preston St. Take away only. Only problem is, once you've had one from there, anything else doesn't compare. It's that good.. Honest !!!

I've been saying for years that the two takeaways I've had from there were shite, watery and bland.

When my bird lived in palmeria avenue I always used to drive to hove tandori, much much nicer.

This. I lived down the road from this place for many years, curry on the way home from the pub was a very regular occurence in those days.

Although mind your head when going especially if you are pissed. There was a rumour back in the day that some bloke blinded himself by banging his head so hard as he went through the door. Probably nonsense, but still worth remembering.

have you considered the fact they might have known who you are, and dumped in your curry?

Hmmm. This always used to be my mantra - was my favourite curry in Shoreham, but have not been that impressed for a while. Have had a few t/a from there recently, and whilst it's ok, I no longer think it's anything special - although my cats love their Peshwari naans. Abdul is great though and he always says hello whereever I run into him (I've never known if that's his real name, but it's what everyone calls him). If I'm over that way, there is a super restaurant/takeaway in East Preston, which I am very partial to.

I quite fancy a curry tonight, now though, so it'll be the Cottage t/a probably.

There is always the Millan, that went down hill but last time I went was excellent.

Had one t/a from there and I wasn't sure that the chicken was cooked enough. Many peole have raved about it though, so maybe I should give it more of a chance.

Always thought the Rajah on the Windmill Parade was the best curry place in the Southwick / Shoreham area. Been a while since I’ve been there so it may have changed. The Millan was OK but always seemed a bit cramped – think they had another one in Worthing.

Zam Zam Tandoori in Portslade are fabulous (takeaways only mind), I never get indian from anywhere else now. Their Zam Zam special is exquisite, and they chuck loads of free little sundries at you if you're a regular.

Last time home I went to the Millan, & I can honestly say it's the worst I've experienced.
A week later I went to the new(ish) one in Worthing. Zaman? Just along from the Warwick. Bloody superb, great service too.

Had a shocker in the Ashoka also, so Ganges or Hove Tandoori when in Hove in the future.
