Statement from the MCC: “After this morning’s play, emotions were running high, and words were unfortunately exchanged with some of the Australian team, by a small number of Members.

"We have unreservedly apologised to the Australian Team and will deal with any Member who has not maintained the standard we expect through our disciplinary processes.

"It was not necessary to eject anyone from the ground and I am pleased to say that there was no repeat of this as the players resumed the field for this afternoon."
What weakness.

I was just starting to get my hopes up there for a bit. Had a hope that Broad and Robinson could nurdle the runs but thats it now. They nearly turned over ridiculous odds. I think we lost this match when the Aussies passed 400, we were always going to lose after that, it was just the margin and the way we went down that was uncertain.
Disagree. I think we lost it at 188-1 with Lyon limped off then they decided to start hooking everything, could easily have made 500 in that innings and would be sat with a beer in the dressing room at 1-1.

We may talk about the spirit of the game but what is the difference of this and Broad saying in a recent interview that there is no way he would walk when he hits it which he didnt I think in a recent Ashes game when he middled it to slip

Not that I expected them to get the runs but both Broad and Robinson can bat a bit.

Seems like they threw in the towel once Stokes was out.
Yes. Very disappointing, mainly from Robinson.

I was no batsman. But when I went out, in whatever situation, they had to get me out. I would be furious if I gave my wicket away. And with 70 runs needed and 3 wickets remaining I would be batting for my life. Slim hopes, yes, but it's those slim hopes you are playing for.

It was this. 400-450 would’ve been a par score from that position and the field was spread giving us easy singles every ball. We’d have been home and dry for 5 in this innings.
