I was at the game yesterday lots of people very complimentary about the Stadium, a few who were exclaiming how it was too good for a football team like Brighton. I held off from pointing out our position in the league.

Overheard in the queue...

"Brighton? I'm not entirely sure but I think they're in the Championship, the next level down from the Premiership. It's got about 15,000 seats.

"Twickenham is big. 50,000 I think. Wembley is about 60,000 like a small US college stadium."

Expect to be missing kick-off such is the queue at Brighton.

Despite only being able to take the tiniest fraction of a fraction of a fraction of credit along with thousands of others, I can't help but feel an overwhelming sense of pride seeing such events happening at our home. Suddenly marches, postcards, banners and balloons all make sense. If I were Tony Bloom, my head would have exploded with pride at the achievement he has produced. Along with Messrs Knight, Perry, Chapman et al. We've come a long, long way together, through the hard times and the good. I have to celebrate you baby. I have to praise you like I should!

Loved it yesterday. Brilliant atmosphere - great to see the Amex used like that. Could have done with some Harveys rather than Heineken p*ss at £5 per pint, but that's a small complaint.
Off to Wembley now - hoping the Argies can pull off a similar upset, but doubt it somehow

Puts criticism of footy crowd into perspective, I'm sure it's a great atmosphere but it's hardly a cauldron of noise today (watching on TV) and its full.

The atmosphere (noise specifically) is nowhere near a good championship game so I wish I'd experienced yesterday but a lot of well to do folk having a smashing day out! One USA chant and that's about it. More than happy to be here though!

Any progress to report?

estimated 40 minute queue for the single ticket window at Lewes station (machine handily out of order) at 10.45am. We got in a taxi which worked well - cheaper than train, quicker to Amex, and didn't even need to buy a ticket afterwards.

Great day today. Shame the USA just were not technically good enough, losing too many penalties. Atmosphere brilliant and the view from west upper was really great, especially to see the way the teams used the spaces.

The Amex looked incredible and the band outside were brilliant...we parked in the virgin car park at around 10 and got to the ground about quarter past and the atmosphere outside was buzzing. So many different rugby shirts from local clubs, international teams and loads of Americans in various guises. We were sat by captain america and Uncle Sam himself.

Btw. Don't understand why there were not more tickets available...there were places around the ground with empty seats, especially behind the goals down the front.

We were in row A in the South Stand, West side of the posts. The 10 or so seats to my left were empty as were some of them behind those. The reason was clear though, if you were down there, as there was a massive TV camera immediately inside the advertising hoardings there. You'd not have seen much sitting there. The view from our seats wasn't brilliant either, particularly for the kids, because of the number of photographers who were all sitting on stools.

I suspect any groups of vacant seats were due to the positioning of TV/press, or maybe anticipated positioning.

Only 29100+ what happened to the other 1500 tickets did Bamber try and sell them to Manchester United fans.
