Probably only of mild interest to most, but on my Facebook Timeline today I had a reminder of a couple of pictures I took, and posted, four years ago today. It was just before we sat down for a Sunday Lunch there. They show the Amex looking a little different to normal. Can't remember how often they completely redo the turf...it's not annual is it?

One of my mates is a roofer, his company got the contract to do the roof over that studio box in the SE corner. Said it was one of the most b@stard awkward jobs he'd ever done, being as you could barely stand up due to the proximity of the steel girders overhead (I dunno if this was 4 years ago, but it would've been around that time I guess).

I am not sure about the Amex's pitch, but some clubs do indeed strip back and completely replant the turf each summer.

I was talking to a guy from one of the NFL teams the other month and they get new turf laid up to three times a year. I'm guessing the situation at the Amex is that it is replaced once a year.

Seems a bit over the top especially as during a three hour game they spend about 20 minutes actually playing.
