I have to admit I just thought it was dull. It comes across as fairly dumbed down, that saccharine sweet feel. TH is a boring narrator and I even looked up to see if the Jaguar sequence was AI generated as it just looked wrong. For me it just lacks the gravitas of an Attenborough epic, but I accept that people will like that.

Edit. The Monarch butterfly sequence was phenomenal I'll give it that.

Was stunning in UHD, but somehow lacked something. For instance, the bald eagle scene. Was good but not classic TV. Was it because it was Hanks instead of Attenborough?

I much preferred Attenborough in ‘Saving Private Ryan’.

I know it’s stupid and silly of me but I watched the first episode, which as you say is visually stunning, and came across all anti American and I won’t watch any more now. I just can’t seem to separate anything connected to the US, even a nature programme, from my anger with Trump and his followers. Even Hanks, who is one of my favourite actors, annoyed me because he wasn’t Attenborough!

I just can’t seem to separate anything connected to the US, even a nature programme, from my anger with Trump and his followers. Even Hanks, who is one of my favourite actors, annoyed me because he wasn’t Attenborough!

Pretty weak to be honest, Hanks voiceover is dull, laboured and uninspiring.
