The new epic nature series from the amazing BBC.

It’s simply stunning as you’d expect.

Overview
Tom Hanks narrates a 10-episode television event from the executive producers of Planet Earth, exploring the extraordinary worlds and wildlife of North and South America. Scored by composer Hans Zimmer, the breathtaking journey follows amazing creatures living in their natural habitats across the supercontinent, including diverse terrains like the Atlantic Coast, Mexico, Wild West, Amazon, Frozen North, Gulf Coast, Andes, Caribbean, West Coast and Patagonia. Each location comes alive in never-before-seen footage showing the unique connectedness of the land that millions of people call home.

I have to admit I just thought it was dull. It comes across as fairly dumbed down, that saccharine sweet feel. TH is a boring narrator and I even looked up to see if the Jaguar sequence was AI generated as it just looked wrong. For me it just lacks the gravitas of an Attenborough epic, but I accept that people will like that.

Edit. The Monarch butterfly sequence was phenomenal I'll give it that.

I know it’s stupid and silly of me but I watched the first episode, which as you say is visually stunning, and came across all anti American and I won’t watch any more now. I just can’t seem to separate anything connected to the US, even a nature programme, from my anger with Trump and his followers. Even Hanks, who is one of my favourite actors, annoyed me because he wasn’t Attenborough!

It’s not all about the U.S.

Mexico, Canada, South America.

I know and I know I’m being daft.Though I can imagine Trump watching the bits on these countries, being impressed by their beauty and invading them so that he can ensure no one has better nature than the US

Back in the 1970s I used to be in a band with Hans Zimmer.

That's nothing to do with the thread of course, I just wanted to boast about it.
