Aldi over here is called Hofer and is a damn fine shop.

It's not really a place to go for everything you'll need for a weekly shop but I would say the quality of the fruit & veg, meat, deli is better than most other supermarkets and cheaper.

Where Aldi do really well here are their weekly offers on random household items & holidays.

Now Netto - that's a scummy shop!

Is the Aldi where the Sainsburys used to be? If so have they redecorated or just not bothered- like ESK did in Hastings?

it is indeed- more open plan, like a rummage sale, than a 'proper' supermarket. will be interesting to see what happens when/if Tesco open at the old Co-op..

that will be food stores, in space of a few hundred yards..?
