Growing up back in the 80's in HOVE it was the albion in the winter sussex in the summer. season ticket for the cricket and footy.
moving back to uk after 13 years in NYC , i'm still a big albion fan !

Abort, retry, fail
The first Albion game I went to was in 1990 (courtesy of Sammy Nelson).
The first Sussex game I went to was in 1986/7 (courtesy of Paul Parker).

Given a choice, I would pick Sussex. It is somewhat more satisfying and at half the price (or less). I am not just saying that as Sussex have been a national force, of late, I prefer the whole experience involved.

Lazing in a deckchair, in the sunshine, with a paper/book vs an uncomfortable experience in a rickety old athletic stadium... tough choice.

I doubt that will change WHEN we move into Falmer.

Plus, I am infinitely better at cricket than football, so that helps.

Very suprised at the love for Sussex on here.. no wonder is everything so negative, the board is full of cricket lovers?

sussex at the minute - however, if the rape scene that would be buying a membership and having to pay separately for twenty20 next year bearing in mind that it will be the 'second competition' takes place, then that may well change

Cricket is shit. You have a swastika for an avatar. 'Nuff said.

This point seems a good chance to say that I don't like the whole 'Sharks' business. Sharks have nothing to do with Sussex, apart from sharing the same first letter. I would rather we were called 'The Matlets', but hey ho*...

* BBC NEWS | Magazine | Why has 'hey-ho' made a comeback?
I agree, but I think 'Martlets' might be better than 'Matlets'. :) 'Sharks' is a bit too rugby league.

Or why can't Sussex be The Seagulls? We are lucky that we've got two teams that represent the county and it's always great to see loads of Albion shirts at Sussex games to emphasise the bond.

I had to chose between Sussex or The Albion being relegated, I'm afraid Sussex would be gooners.

To coin a song, "i don't like cricket"

Why if you don't like football or BHA, why are you on the message board :bla:

Football is more intense, more passion shown, especially at away games, they are ruddy brillio. The football is normally disappointing, but it is that hope that one day you will see something amazing (in a good way) that keeps you still enjoying going like you did for your first ever game

Cricket, it is more laid back, but a chance to watch a small team do so brilliantly well against all the odds is wickerd. Sussex have won literally everything you can in the last decade, at both levels of the professional game, and now I get to watch them play in the Champions League in India

Football is more about the day out, cricket is more about the brilliance of the team I support. Football JUST edges it though...
