Paradise by the Dashboard Light has been curtailed?
As long as he’s gone like a bat out of Hell after November 5, I can live with that 🙂

VP debate is tonight at 9 pm EST.

I'm not sure VP debates have ever really moved the needle, but since there looks likely to be no more presidential debates (since Trump is too scared to "win" another one), this will be the closest we get.

Even this, possibly the most memorable moment of a VP debate did...absolutely nothing:

The closer we get to the election the more I fear that Putin's boy will win it. 🥶

5 weeks until we find out.
They are neck and neck with the bookies, Harris is ahead nationally but there is a perception polled voters like to keep their Trump preference secret, with many telling the pollsters they're undecided.

That is worth 1 or 2 percent, apparently, so enough for a 2-4% swing which - with the natural margin of error in the polls means it will go down to the wire.

The logical part of my brain finds it hard to comprehend that a person who said "They're eating the dogs, they're eating the cats, they're eating the pets...of the people that live there" can still garner enough support to take it to the wire.

That's not even the worst part. When he was told it wasn't true, he was incredulous, citing his source as the TV. He's a moron.

Giulliani endorses Harris:

Yeah, okay, not that Giulliani. His daughter. Who laments how she's lost her father to Trump's cult.

As Rudy Giuliani's daughter, I'm unfortunately well-suited to remind Americans of just how calamitous being associated with Trump can be, even for those who are convinced he's on their side. Watching my dad's life crumble since he joined forces with Trump has been extraordinarily painful, both on a personal level and because his demise feels linked to a dark force that threatens to once again consume America. Not to disregard individual accountability in the slightest, but it would be naive for us to ignore the fact that many of those closest to Trump have descended into catastrophic downward spirals. If we let Trump back into the driver's seat this fall, our country will be no exception.

Donald demonstrates, again, that he doesn't know how phones work:

Harris is not holding a landline phone. Her phone is on the table in front of her and she has an earpiece in her ear.

Minor shifts in national figures aren’t particularly relevant, it all comes down to just a few thousand voters in the seven key swing states. You know, the states where the Republicans have been gerrymandering districts, striking off voters, changing rules to disenfranchise likely Harris voters and so on - those ones. About as far from the vision of democracy the Founding Fathers had as it’s possible to get.

Trump is resorting to his usual lies to criticise Biden and Harris's response to Hurricane Helene.

However, this is how Trump finally responded to Hurricane Maria when he was President after he had waited two weeks before he finally visited the disaster area....
