It'll probably go to some Olympian, which is a shame, cos Bradley's done something no-one from these shores has done before.

He will probably grab a gold (or two - haven't a clue what he is entering) just to make sure.

It all depends on how he does at the Olympics. I would imagine he will get it but who knows what other British people will do remarkable things this year.

He will be looking to guide Cav to Gold, a la today's stage.
Plus the individual time trial, a few days later.

Gold in that will be tough, but there will be a huge tidal wave of good will behind him.

I can't think of a single sporting event that compares to winning the TDF let alone anything in the Olympics but I've seen a lot of negative comments on NSC and elsewhere, so I'm not 100% confident that he will be SPOTY. If someone does something great at the Olympics it will be fresher in the publics memory but I still think he'll win, he should do anyway, especially if he wins the time trial too.

Imagine any other sport where you would go through that for 3 weeks, then 6 days later put yourself through he'll to help your countryman win a gold, before trying to win your own gold a few days later!

Winning the tour de France is as much an achievement as winning the football world cup. No one would be complaining if the England captain was getting it for that

He will win it by a country mile. Nothing any British Olympian can do in the coming weeks can come close to Wiggins achievement.

Huge numbers of cycling aficionados about. If they could vote in large enough numbers for Cav to win it, then Wiggins looks a near cert. Only way I could see him not winning it, would be if Mo Farah wins the 10,000 AND the 5000.

My confident prediction;

1. Wiggins
2. Ennis
3. Farah

100%. I would suggest Redgrave is the only British Olympian ever to have bettered Wiggins' achievement
