Is there a better quality version anywhere than the dark & grainy newspaper shot that usually appears on here, or is that one the only evidence of the moment?

Cheers

I remember the issue at Pikey Lane, that pic relates to very well... I was about 30 feet behind it...
somebody threw something on the pitch...police rushed in and grabbed the bloke in the pic...it wasnt him who threw the object.
Understandably, he was pissed off and struggled, and ended up lashing out and a photographer managed to get a shot of his fist
hitting the police officers nose....
The newspaper headline was something about hooligans...nothing about some poor bloke being grabbed forcibly by police for nothing and trying to defend himself. He definitely had an unlucky day...the object thrown on the pitch was from about 20 yards to the right of him.

Do you mean the pic of Mullers double V signing the Palace fans at Stamford Bridge?
I was at the game and the picture is one of my all time favourites, but I've only ever seen the grainy one.Would love to see abetter copy if one exists.Reckon I would have it blown up and framed!

Don't know about framing, but I did think it might make a nice flag :)

This is the only one I've ever seen though, & I'm not nearly good enough at design stuff to turn something that dark into a decent flag.

Nothing on Google Images is any better. I reckon you should use the updated version from a few months ago starring Aged Alan and Mendoza! Would make an interesting flag.

Poor quality image. Best I can do in five minutes is enhance the contrast.

Fantastic picture.

Is that Ron "Palace" Challis with the ball in his hand on the left? I was a boarder at BCJS at the time and got a copy of the Chelsea programme from the game sent from my Dad a couple of days later with the words "we wuz robbed" inscribed by him on the back page next to the team line-ups.

Oi! That's my avatar you're talking about!

Yeah, FA Cup First Round, Second Replay, at Stamford Bridge, 1976 - just before he stormed the Palace dressing room to confront Venables. And yes, that's Ron Challis with the match ball - and Dixon of Dock Green having a word in Mullers' shell-like...
