City are top of the league, despite one of their best players going awol, how can fans boo him?Agree. How Mancini can come out of a Tevez return with any credit is beyond me. If I were a city fan id boo him to high heaven if he played again.
As said on a different post it seems that the clubs and their staff in the Manchester / Liverpool area have lost touch with reality - and now this. OK Tevez is a world class player that cost a fortune but how many chances should he be given after walking out on the Club? What message is Mancini giving to others? What price loyalty?
Most punters on the terraces would not receive such treatment in their real world employment. Tevez (going awol), Suarez (racism in the workplace, bringing the club into disrepute etc) and Evra would most likely have been sacked for gross misconduct (albeit a smart alec barrister would probably appeal this). Their Managers finally having to be reigned in by the Club's owners while fans and sponsors cringe. Even had apologists on here.
Football clubs racking up serial debts and failing to pay staff and debtors while the FA do little to prevent a recurrence. Much of football is out of touch with reality. Look at the number of poor role models around the Premiership. Luckily we now have decent people running our Club.
But then look at todays news re. an illegal immigrant said to be a serious risk to national security can't be deported and a corrupt senior Police officer seems to have a catalogue of misdemeanours but has used 'the system' to umpteen lengths to prolong his bent career. It seems that cheats and criminals can prosper most of the time.
This may be more down to politics and getting a fair fee for him. City have to be seen to be wanting to play him, otherwise he'll be free to walk off.
They said this on sky a few weeks ago when Milan were interested. They said if he hadn't been in 10% by the end of this season he could go (can't remember if any fee would be set). However I can't see how that would be the case if he's not played because he's awol, hence I think his advisors might tell him to be available, and likewise City have to be seen to be offering him the chance to play. If City won't let him play, they can't stop him going elsewhere.I believe, if the senior player is fit and you don't use him in at least x% of games (I would imagine an unused sub counts), the player can walk away for free.

"He's in the middle of an argument so then he tells me to keep on warming up and treats me like a dog.
"So when he spoke to me in that tone of voice, and I said 'No, I'm not going out'. So I was willing to play, but the coach was in such a foul mood because he had that argument with Dzeko.
You have to ask him nicely if he could possibly do the job he's being paid 200k a week to do. Mancini offering an olive branch and Tevez still can't just shut up and come back to play.

(There must be more to it than that, given the number of players signed to clubs and the logistics of playing them all - but this rule was highlighted with respect to Tevez when the whole thing kicked off).
Man City need him in the shop window to sell him and he has to make himself appealling to other clubs so they pay the price City want. .
