I've just received an email from Tesco telling me the rewards scheme is changing again. From June the exchange rate will be only 2x the value rather than 3x the value when exchanged for rewards. It was only a few years back the exchange rate was 4x the value. Back in 2012 I used mine on a P&O cruise from Southampton to Dubia, now all they're worth is the EuroTunnel.

We've always converted ours into Virgin Atlantic miles (now points) and the exchange rate has remained the same, presumably because it's not a direct £ value.

Whether it’s worth 10x or 1x it’s still a “freebie”……though I’d prefer a cut in prices and no points at all

The most curious thing..
I would prefer it if they actually stocked stuff I want to buy........ like eggs. 🥚🥚🥚

Looking on the bright side, the rate prices are going up in the supermarkets you'll be earning twice as many clubcard points to begin with so it should balance out.
That’s true, but the items you can buy with the resulting points will have gone up, too.

We used to have our annual holiday with the kids mostly covered by Clubcard vouchers. We used to focus on maximising our points through shopping choices, so they used to benefit Tesco, too.

Haven’t been so bothered since they cut to 3x value and now they’re pretty worthless, really, unless you are shopping for a big family and running a gas guzzling Chelsea tractor.

Shame, as they actually worked as an incentive to loyalty originally but don’t (for us, anyway) any more.

Still a better scheme thab ASDA's, which specifically excludes less well-off people who don't own a smart phone.

Where is this Dubia you talk of?

We usually use ours to take kids and grandkids out for pizza at Zizzi or Pizza Express .... so will have to convert all vouchers before it goes down to 2X and make sure we stuff ourselves with pizza before they expire!!

Dear God - here comes another one to sneer at people who don't own a smart phone.
What are you on about, you strange man? If you don't want a smart phone then don't buy a smartphone. But that is called not wanting a smartphone, not being poorly off. I've lost count of the number of homeless people I have seen sat on their smartphones - presumably supplied by charity.
