I have noticed a lot more very young children ( 6 & 7 yr olds ) on bikes on roads like church road and sackville rd in Hove . I know it’s 20 mile max on those roads but still bloody dangerous to allow very young kids to cycle on roads with traffic even if a parent is behind them . I despair at the lack of common sense with some parents . Why take a completely unnecessary risk with your child’s life ! Idiotic .

I imagine there was a perfectly good cycle path right next to the road as well?

It’s taking away the annoyance of cyclists stopping me overtaking them by going in twos or cycling too far from the pavement when I see over 50’s kitted out like Tour De France cyclists in full logo’d kits. If only they knew what twats they looked :lolol:

I know this isn't the place for 'on second thoughts' or god forbid 'I was wrong'.

I'm wondering if any of the very vocal car lobby here have pulled their old 'sit up and beg' from the back of the garage and thought 'this isn't so bad after all'?

Nah I’ll stick to the car.

Like many others, will be using the car an awful lot more in the next few months as it is going to be much safer than public transport. Gone are the days of my Worthing to East Croydon commute via Southern Trains and hello to having to drive up.

I drive up Ditchling beacon to work every morning. These last 6 weeks during 08:30 to 09:00, the beacon is flush with wanabee radley biggins. The leg across the top of downs there after is slowed by cars parked up, wanting to walk the dog etc. Never understood the desire to wear lycra.....

Apparently social distancing doesn't apply to cyclists so definitely getting involved. Must give you some special immunity.

I’ve been trying to buy a new bike for several weeks and supplies are virtually non-existent, both online and in bike shops. Most are quoting delivery dates in September and October. Also, second hand bikes are becoming rarer and pricier. I’d need to compromise massively on my requirements in order to buy now.

Have you tried Planet x? They keep trying to sell me a new one so I assume they have stock. Highly recommended.

Er, I've had a lot of trouble with pedestrians when cycling. Nearly all of them in fact. They come and stand right next to you when you're waiting at lights. Please bear in mind we can't move over if being overtaken by a car. Bikes on the other hand are giving other bikes and pedestrians a wide berth wherever possible.
