The defenders thread seemed of interest. Today they have ranked midfielders and guess what? We have a midfielder in the top 5. No surprises who, but thought I'd share the content. Not sure we will have anyone in tomorrows top 5 strikers

Declan Rice 7
Fabinho 6
Yves Bissouma 6
Rodri 6
Wilfred Ndidi 3
HOLDING MIDFIELDERS
He is the player who Manchester United, Manchester City and Chelsea would love to sign, and Declan Rice is emerging as arguably one of the most influential in the Premier League.
Rice’s importance to both England and West Ham United cannot be overestimated and he is the modern holding midfielder, capable of disrupting opponents and driving his own team forward.
The reputation of holding midfielders used to be negative, with the position seen as one reserved for “spoilers” but Rice’s qualities would give any team the scope for tactical tweaks and different formations.
The 22-year-old underlined his growing potential by starring for England at Euro 2020, finishing at the top of the list for defensive midfielders with votes from all of our reporters.
Fabinho came in joint-second, and Jurgen Klopp is acutely aware that Liverpool’s midfield is far more balanced with the Brazilian in the team.
He is Liverpool’s vacuum-cleaner, hoovering up danger and described by Klopp as the best number six in the world.
When he was covering at centre-back, the midfield suffered and when Fabinho returned to his favoured position to play nine of Liverpool’s final ten games last season, it dragged the club back into the Champions League places. His excellent form has continued into this campaign.
The Premier League's best players this season: Midfielders
It is a testament to the rise of Brighton’s Yves Bissouma that he is also in the conversation, finishing joint-second with Fabinho and Manchester City’s ultra-reliable Rodri.
Bissouma has epitomised Brighton's solid start under Graham Potter and recently revealed his goal to become the best midfielder in the Premier League.
Leicester’s Wilfred Ndidi also picked up three votes and he is another player whose absence is keenly felt by his team. Brendan Rodgers is now facing up to five weeks without his “soldier” after a hamstring injury.
