From his bio....

Millwall's spell in the top flight was not to last as they were relegated in the following season, finishing bottom of the Division after briefly topping the table again. Sheringham was again top scorer for Millwall with twelve goals, having missed ten league games through injury. The club had an opportunity to bounce straight back up at the end of the 1990-91 in English football season, reaching the semi-finals of the Division Two play-offs, but they were beaten by Brighton & Hove Albion F.C. and remained in the Second Division.

:laugh::laugh::laugh:

He is still a Legend though !

I don't particularly like him as a person, but he's responsible for two of my greatest footballing nights.

1) He scored the equaliser in Barcelona on that wonderful night in 1999, which noone remembers because of Solskjaer's heroics a minute later.

and of course, he assisted solskjaers goal

truly great player was sheringham, probably the best footballing brain of any english player in the last, say, 15 years? definitely the best i've seen and i'm 21

Great player. Probably should have called it a day last summer though, as Colchester haven't had much value for their £400,000 this season.

He ran the show that night we totally raped the Dutch in Euro 96.

Possibly only surpassed as my all time favourite England game by the 1-5 hammering of the Germans.

I was married to a Dutch woman at the time, and we had a pre-match agreement of no piss taking whatever the result. I failed miserably to uphold the agreement.:D

A great ambassador and servant to the English game, football will be a poorer place without him.

i met him a few years ago after when he was at west ham after a pre season at scumhurst when me and my friend drunkly sneaked onto the WHU team bus after the game, he thought it was funny and even asked pardew to let us stay when we lied and said we was from east london.
LEGEND!
