Didn't Tuchel have to leave the UK when he lost the Chelsea job? I mean, if he wants to be in the UK (maybe family settled while he was at chelsea etc) he might be tempted by a smaller job like Leeds? If he waits, there might not be another more appealing job for a while - Saints wouldn't be much bigger and are in a worse place in the table. West Ham would have the London appeal, but table-wise isn't that much better than Leeds, and Moyes keeps about just doing enough to stay in the job for now.

Hadn't realized the the manager at West Brom turned them down and signed a new contract. A bit concerning for Leeds, no? I thought they were about to be made mega rich by American investors.

I hadn't realised he used to work under Bialsa. I'd be worried about what it says that a guy who was quite recently at Leeds doesn't want to go back there.

It does give the impression that they are an utter mess behind the scenes. Guess the fact they are relegation threatened doesn't help but you'd expect any decent manager to back themselves in keeping them up given half the season remains.

Leeds fans must still think it’s the year 2000, they seem to have forgotten the past 20 years… They WERE a big club, but over the last 20 years the definition of “big club” has dramatically changed. City, Liverpool, Chelsea, Spurs, United, Arsenal are all miles ahead of them. The fan base of those teams has surged over that time. Leeds are much more in the Villa, Newcastle, Weat Ham category & I probably wouldn’t even put them ahead of any of them. Some serious delusion from Leeds fans these days, but we knew that.

And even their surge in the late 90s ago was fairly short lived. They spent most of the 80s in the second division.
Mediocre mid rank club
You can find various "All time League Tables" on the internet...lots of different ways of calculating it. None of the ones I've seen place Leeds in the Top 10. Mostly they seem to be around 20th. There's one in particular which simply counts the number of points a team has secured whilst in the "top flight", since 1888. The guy keeps it bang up to date. Leeds are 19th...just ahead of Burnley!

The "big club" thing always makes me cringe.
Clubs like Man U, Liverpool, Juve, Real and Barca are never included in conversations about whether they are a "big club" or not. If a club is questionably big or not then surely they simply aren't.
For me Im just happy being Brighton a whatever sized club that is unquestionable well run and progressing each season. All of that is backed up with hard evidence.
Whether a team won a league cup in 1978 and has a fans pub in Hong Kong is really scrapping the barrel if you use them to prove your clubs size.

I see the Spanish club Rayo Vallecano have blocked Leeds’s approach for their manger - I’d imagine the Leeds fans must be apoplectic with rage that the greatest club in the world should be treated in such a way?
