This may sound simple to some but is causing me problems.

How do I set either my PC or HP Printer whichever has to be set to print single address labels for envelopes.

I use Windows XP and having typed a letter go to tools which allows the address to be printed onto a label but when that happens, using a standard 14 labels to a sheet, the address starts half way down the label and therfore the whole address does not print out on the label. How do I adjust or set the area to which it is going to print to on the label. Thanks for any advice, it doesnt work to switch off then on again.

what size of sheet are you using? How many labels per sheet and their arrangement i.e. 8x2, 7x3 etc?

On the labels tab, click options and then look through all the different label combinations mentioned (by highlighting the row and then clicking details) until you find the correct dimensions of the label sheet you are using, leave the selection you want highlighted. If your sheet has 14 labels arranged in 2 columns, 7 labels per column it could be J8163.

Once you have done this then back on the label tab make sure you have single label highlighted and the row and column number where you want it to print and it should print it out correctly! It should retain the label info you've selected for the next time you open Word.

You can change the font, size and bold etc by highlighting and right clicking the text on the label.

To add to that. I would recommend printing a page out on plain paper to ensure that they are lined up correctly.

Depending on what software you are printing the letter with you should have a label template which should get the format you want.
