I'm fascinated by all sorts of football stats. Today I found another interesting one.

Ignoring their relegation season of 2017/18, Stoke City have remained within a six place band of the league they have been in every season since 2008.

Premier League (9th-14th) 9 seasons
Championship (14th-17th) 6 seasons

Crystal Palace have currently had the last 11 seasons in the Premier League occupying 10th-15th place

I wonder if anyone can come up with a stat of the longest a team has been in a league (apart from the obvious giants) and narrowly banded finishes.

First ones that came to mind are Preston and Bristol City, both seem to have spent a decade pretty much midtableish.

Long term I think it was Rochdale that spent nearly 40 years in div 4/div 3/ league 2.

EDIT: just seen you mentioned bands, these are more just division based.

Looks like Bristol City and Preston have each spent the last 9 years in the Championship. I think Ipswich were in there for a bit longer before going down.

Rochdale in Tier 4. For 34 years. Edit I see @anygivensunday beat me to it
