[Football] Teams that can’t catch us. LIVE

I'd settle for losing to Palarse but finishing fourth.
Or even fifth.

Oddly, I know that some on here wouldn't.
Funny old world
Nooooo - no way do we let Palace do the double over us. Never.

That may have happened in 22-23. No certain, but City only finished 27 ahead of us that season so were probably still mathematically catchable with 7-8 games to go.
Last season Sheffield United couldn’t catch us and we could still catch the top teams. Burnley couldn’t catch us and we couldn’t catch Liverpool or Arsenal after the same game looking at the updates on that thread.

In 22-23 the bottom 5 couldn’t catch us before we couldn’t catch the team in first place.

Last night's results also confirm the outcome of the incredibly hasty bet that my cricket teammate made with me, all giddy, on the day Saints won the play-off final - that Saints would finish above us this season

One decent curry night, coming up, all expenses paid :clap2:
Do you have to wait until the end of the season for this, or can you demand it in...

*checks calendar*

...February?

He offered to pay out about three months ago, tbf - but I insisted on waiting until it was confirmed, to prolong his suffering!

It was an upsetting post, as well, so he understandably, stopped posting.
Wow.

A facetious comment I made in response to what appeared to me and others as egregious negativity over a result?
Did really think I actually meant that he should think about killing himself?
If he has stopped posting because of that, then I'm staggered.
I do come out with a lot of silly-arse things, mostly on purpose, but if I caused offense I'd be happy to apologize.
Nobody should withdraw from NSC over something like this

If someone is in a bad place and those thoughts do creep in, then a message like that comes up, it's a good idea to give some distance.

It was a clumsy post. I don’t think any harm was meant and the poster has now said he’d apologise.

But you must never underestimate the power of the written word…..

[Edited: not sure what my personal anecdote brought to the table]

I wasn't blaming you, just pointing out that his last post on Nsc was upsetting to him. As someone else has pointed out, we never know where someone's mind is at any given time. I wasn't even going to put a link to the post, because I didn't want it to be shown.

No worries.

I hope he's OK and that I didn't inadvertently cause a problem

Indeed.
Let's see if I can learn a lesson.
There are far less spiky ways of suggesting someone is being needlessly gloomy.
