Anyone live on a rat run?

This must be all too familiar to some, between the hours or 8 and 9am.

Loving how we're looking at the family trying to cross the road, while the second cyclist nearly gets taken out by the black MPV.

All this could have been avoided if she drove her kid to school...

:lolol:

(runs for cover..)

All this could have been avoided if the council painted a zebra crossing at that junction.

Can't see the benefit, but it looks pretty...

I think the cyclists were in more trouble than the family. All three in that short clip were very close when cars pulled out. Not sure a crossing would solve that. It looks like a one way street so just putting a Stop sign may slow down the vehicles and encourage some cars to allow people to cross.

The family weren't in trouble, but they just couldn't go about their day.

I can assure you that is perfectly normal behaviour that all cyclists deal with multiple times every significant journey.

I'll suggest you've done that to cyclists, there's no way I'm saying I haven't and I only look out for cyclists!!
(The amount of prams I have to drag from the front of my car after each journey, is troubling)

Almost as bad as the cyclists who jump red lights though:

Or even cyclist travelling on the wrong side of the road:

Or bikes without lights. Two in this one instance.

From my dash cam collection.

Sad that not one of those cars felt able to wave them over.
Why should they?

They are cars they are far more important than anything else.

Might be because it's an Anti Car thread and I felt I needed to readdress the balance. Whataboutism is justified in this instance and it gave me an excuse to publish my images.

I rest my case.
So no relevance at all.

I thought the thread simply highlighted some selfish drivers.

As a car driver, I didn’t feel it was anti cars per se.

Sym is more than welcome to start a thread

#TeamAntiCyclist - Red Light jumpers, on which he can show all the little pictures he likes.
He might even be surprised by who agrees with him

But that has no connection to this thread.

.

Although the footage from twitter shows 1:56pm.

A good opportunity to teach her children the Green Cross Code, only had to wait for a small number of cars before having a clear gap to cross the road.

Not really a problem.

All this could have been avoided if the council painted a zebra crossing at that junction.

Why would the Council place a zebra crossing that close to the junction. Any zebra crossing needs to be some distance away from the junction. For all we know there is already one there, but the family are too lazy to walk to it and use it.

It was posted on twitter at 1:56pm.
I think we can fairly safely say the footage was taken some 6 (ish) hours earlier.

The zebra crossing comment was a little glib, as I assume yours is too, because we all know there isn't a safe crossing x yards down an obvious residential street.

I haven't just got cyclist footage and I have no problem with cyclists as a rule.

The thread would have to be called Caught On Dash Cam for the general road using fools.
