Incidentally, does anyone have the low-down information on Adams' training and tactical methods to show that he will play a 4-3-3, a 3-5-2, a 5-3-2 or a 4-1-3-2 formation above and beyond the facile 'well, we might as well give it a go because nothing else works' consideration?

Hmmm, absolutely no width there.

Northampton would merely need to turn up with five midfielders, and you've got a durge on your hands. If football were a war, think the Battle of the Somme minus the bullets.

Yes but Fraser has a tendacy to move out to the right and Johnson can play left wing.

Depends on whether you are a fan of the diamond system or not.

I think on a narrow pitch like Withdean it would be effective...

I thought the point of these threads was that you put the team you'd play? :)

Fraser plays out wide for the reserves where, incidentally, he is superb.

Not saying that that would necessarily translate into first-team football, but it does mean it's a role he is (a) familiar with and (b) pretty good at.

Embarrassment it is not.

Not his main position though, is it?

And it won't be his position whatsoever when he gets first team football on a regular basis, unless the manager is a moron.

That's my point. When he plays, yes it is his usual position.

He's not a winger in the Ryan Giggs or Aaron Lennon sense, but he plays well in wide midfield. Arguably better than in centre midfield where, tenacious as he is, the game can often pass him by.
